1. Cancellation Prior to Move‑In

If a customer books and pays for a storage unit in advance but decides not to proceed before their move‑in date, the following applies:

  • Full Refund: If the cancellation occurs 7 days or more before the scheduled move‑in date, a full refund of prepaid storage rental will be provided.
  • Inside Notice Period: If cancellation occurs less than 7 days before move‑in, a minimum charge equivalent to 7 Days of storage fees applies, and the balance of any prepaid rent will be refunded.

2. Unused Rent Refunds

Hills Self Storage provides refunds for unused rent when a customer vacates their unit. Customers are eligible to receive a refund for prepaid rent extending beyond their actual vacate date.

3. Notice Period Required

A minimum of 7 days’ notice is required to qualify for a refund of unused rent.

4. Move‑Out Requirements

To complete the move‑out process and enable any applicable refund:

  • The unit must be emptied and cleaned.
  • All personal locks must be removed.
  • Any borrowed equipment must be returned.
  • Staff may verify the unit’s condition.

5. Refund Processing

Refunds will be:

  • Calculated based on the official vacate date.
  • Returned to the original payment method whenever possible.
  • Processed within a reasonable timeframe depending on banking providers.

6. Non‑Refundable Items

The following items and fees are non‑refundable:

  • Administrative/setup fees (if applicable).
  • Boxes, packing supplies, or merchandise purchased onsite.
